Supporting Handmade

The Handmade Artist Forum is dedicated to anything handmade and it's purpose is to create a sfe place for artists to gather and discuss techniques, show off their work, promote their sites and blogs, and get some critiques and praise. So stop by and support handmade so this industry will be able to better compete with massed produced wares.

Weekend sculptors of stone and clay. Garage rat woodworkers. Grandmas and college students addicted to chainmaille and beads. Steampunk creators and jewelry makers. Hobbyist knitters and crocheters. Empty nest parents that do watercolors in the now, spare room. We are reusers and recyclers. Some sell their work, while others are just “learn-a-holics”.

What do you do on the Handmade Artist Forum?

Share creations. That first necklace or a practice painting. Seek advice from others who’ve ‘been there, done that’. Learn how to make your creations better, and take better pictures of them. Offer help to those starting a business from a happy pastime and support each other when you just can’t make it how it looks in your head. Have fun and remember, the crafts may be different, but we all have passionate love for art and respect each other’s dreams.

Offer compliments, critiques and kind words. The competition is friendly and lighthearted.

Promote each other’s works, with free advertising of online shops on the forum and through online programs like Twitter and Blogging. While there are no fees or dues to be a Forum Member, we ask that in exchange for advertising your work, you participate in the discussions in a positive and friendly manner. Friends are made fast and easily here.

Who can join the Forum?

Basically anyone! Handmade Artists’ Forum is a family friendly group. We encourage all creative people that work with their hands to make decorative, functional, and FUN items to join our Forum. Who knows, you may teach US something.

Enjoy,

Handmade Artist Forum

Handmade Artists Shop!

Well the forum has continued to grow and we finally got around to adding a shop for our members to sell their wonderful creations. The Handmade Artists Shop is a multi vendor venue dedicated to handmade creations only. We work very hard to keep the massed produced low quality items out of our store front. All the monies from sales go directly to the vendors, so you get to deal directly with the artists. Stop by and say hi and see the best on the web in handmade goodness.

  • Vintage two tier table, was in terrible shape, rescued and mosaiced

This was a ratty old table, but solid wood. I found it at an estate sale. Water rings, cigarette burns on the table tops, sanded down, primed, painted and then I looked underneath and found it was made in 1904 by a company which no longer exist. So I taped that mark off with package tape so it could be seen after and kept painting it.A beautiful mosaic and "Voila" or as some would say "vahla" ....here ya go.... - 4 days ago
